Design Process & Policy's

* Phase 1 — Visual Design & Creative Concept: starts at $350 and can increase depending on the amount of design work, time, revisions, and number of spaces. The standard concept can include up to five visuals for the client to choose from. Once design work begins, the design fee is nonrefundable.

* Phase 2 — Bringing the Concept to Life: after the visual is approved, the client can either take the design and hire/manage their own contractors, or hire Designs by Marcella for additional hands-on help and coordination.

* Project Coordination: larger projects can range approximately from $1,000 to $10,000, $20,000+, depending on how much time, sourcing, decision-making, contractor communication, shopping, supervision, and overall creative involvement the project requires.

* Products & Contractors: furniture, décor, materials, deliveries, contractors, installers, painters, electricians, handymen, etc. are separate from Marcella’s design/coordination fee and are paid for by the client.

* Communication Policy: once a project moves into the physical/coordination stage, consistent communication is required. You need to know what is happening with deliveries, contractors, deadlines, changes, and decisions so you can properly coordinate the project.

* If Communication Stops: you are not expected to keep your schedule open or continue mentally managing a project when the client becomes unavailable. The project can be paused or considered complete at that stage, and restarting later may require a new agreement or additional fee.

* Structure & Timing: your work operates with a plan, schedule, responsibilities, and clear deadlines. Last-minute communication cannot automatically become your emergency or require you to rearrange other business obligations.

* Approval: once the client chooses and approves a visual direction, that becomes the concept you work from. Significant changes after approval can be considered additional design work.

* Design-Only Option: clients can stop after Phase 1. They receive the creative direction, layout recommendations, visuals, décor direction, and general product guidance, and then manage implementation themselves.
